Facilitator for Capacity Self-Assessment (CASA) Workshop
Venue: Golden Peacock Hotel, Beira, Mozambique
Duration: 2 Days (2and 3 December 2025
1. Background
The Capacity Self-Assessment (CASA) tool is designed to support organizations in evaluating their internal systems, external linkages, and implementation capacity. The workshop aims to strengthen organizational performance, foster collaboration, and enhance impact through structured evaluation and capacity-building processes.
The CASA process is grounded in principles of mutuality, complementarity, Appreciative Inquiry, equality, contextualization, dialogue, ownership, participation, and good facilitation. It emphasizes celebrating achievements while constructively identifying areas for improvement.
2. Objectives of the Workshop
The facilitator will guide 10 participants through a structured self-assessment process to:
Improve organizational performance by identifying strengths and gaps.
Foster collaboration among stakeholders through dialogue and shared reflection.
Enhance impact by developing actionable capacity-building plans.
Promote equitable decision-making using the Power Awareness Tool.
Encourage positive organizational change through Appreciative Inquiry.
3. Scope of Work
The facilitator will be responsible for:
Workshop preparation: Review CASA tool materials, adapt questionnaires, and prepare facilitation aids.
Facilitation of sessions: Lead all stages of the CASA process, including icebreakers, energizers, and team-building exercises.
Guiding assessment stages: Discussion Starter, Questionnaire, Summary Score Sheet, Plenary Scoring, Analysis, Ranking Priorities, and Action Planning.
Applying principles: Ensure equality, participation, contextualization, and appreciation throughout.
Using tools: Integrate the Power Awareness Tool to address power dynamics.
Documentation: Summarize findings, priorities, and action plans for organizational follow-up.
4. Deliverables
The facilitator is expected to provide:
Workshop agenda tailored to the 2-day format.
Facilitation materials including questionnaires, score sheets, and add-on modules.
Summary report capturing achievements, areas for improvement, and agreed action plans.
Recommendations for follow-up capacity-building activities.
5. Duration and Location
Dates: 2nd and 3rd of December 2025 (2 consecutive days).
Venue: Golden Peacock Hotel, Beira, Mozambique.
6. Required Profile of Facilitator
The facilitator should demonstrate:
Proven experience in organizational capacity assessment and participatory facilitation.
Knowledge of Appreciative Inquiry and strengths-based approaches.
Strong communication skills and ability to foster trust and participation.
Experience in development/humanitarian contexts, preferably in Mozambique or similar settings.
Ability to synthesize findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
7. Reporting and Coordination
The facilitator will report to the Director and coordinate closely with the organizing team to ensure smooth preparation and delivery.
8. Logistics
Venue, meals, and workshop materials will be provided by the organizers.
Facilitator fees will be covered as per agreement.
Please note that travel and accommodation are clearly not included in the proposal. We strongly recommend selecting someone based in Beira, or alternatively, you may manage those costs independently.
9. Application Process
